Dance concept & choreography by Ramya Ramnarayan, Artistic Director of

Nrithyanjali Institute of Dance, Inc.

This is a unique collaborative work of Indian & Indonesian dance forms.

Bharathanatyam, Indian Dance is choreographed and performed by Kalaimamani Smt.

Ramya Ramnarayan, along with 12 dancers with a live orchestra. Ramya will be

presenting important episodes from each Canto, using lyrics composed by great

poets Valmiki, Tulasidas, and Kambha, and contemporary poets Swathi Thirunal and

Arunachala Kavi for this presentation. The Balinese dance is choreographed by

Carlos Fittante & Islene Pinder. It is a thirty-minute chamber sized rendition

of the Hindu epic, Ramayana that was premiered at the Bali Arts Festival

hosted in Denpasar, Bali in July 2000 where it received international critical

acclaim.

Directions: From Rt. 1 N/S take Scudders Mill Road drive up to the traffic

light of Dey Road. Make right on to Dey Road. At T make left on to Maple Av. At

the traffic light left on to Grovers mill Road. School is on right side.

From NJ Turnpike. Take exit 8A towards Cranbury, Rt. 130 S. Make right on to

Dey Road and make left on to Maple Av. At traffic light left on to Grovers

Mill. School is on right side.
